Poem: Endless possibilities

My head under water,

browsing through my thoughts,

or so I think, they are mine.

Somewhere, when things get

quiet, I can hear the beating

of a drum, the rhythm

so indistinctly mine.

Birds flying, leaving no

trace behind, on the deep

blue canvas. Inside of us

are endless stories, some

happy, some sad, yet

infinitely ours. Inside of us

are endless possibilities,

no matter how broken

we've become.

Poem: My mirror know all my secrets

I cannot hide, you portray me without question

my ebb and flow, my dark and light

you're my constant friend, and I

cannot look at you and lie,

'cause lets face it, I'd be

lying to myself, right in the face

you may not have all the answers,

but you're a good listener,

and here's a little secret for you to keep:

" I don't know who I should become…

but maybe it's enough to know

who I don't want to become."

Poem: Hidden in childhood

you become…

somewhere between ploughing the fields

with bare hands and feet

climbing rocks and trees

because daylight demands

to be soaked into your skin

you become…

somewhere between wishful thinking

and dreaming of your hearts desires

music taking you to new heights

bathing in the lake of your imagination

do you notice what you gain and what you lose?

you become…

a stranger to the child you once were

so distant and cold, not at all innocent

yet you keep returning back to childhood

as a magnet, hidden in those days is a story

of how your personality unfolded

you become…

yourself, somewhere on the path

like a caterpillar turns into a butterfly

                you find your voice

Poem: Help each other sing

Leaves are falling,

Flying before coming down

As my days are passing

Colour like memory fades

Reminding me I should leave,

Yet something is still keeping me here

I asked for empathy

Yet we lost the human touch

Somewhere in the system

Remember when you were young,

How long ago that seems now

Yet deep inside you,

You don't feel a day older

The same girl, the same boy

The same essence,

But with a little less spark in the eyes

Your light shines in everything you do

Everything is connected somehow

Which path you choose,

The people you meet,

Can we help each other sing?

Poem: Persevere

in the garden where the wildflowers grow

I heard a wolf howling, deep into the night

sadness all his own; it made me think of you.

so close but living distant lives,

what force still binds us together?

I plunge into the eye of the storm

soul restless, searching for harbor

  please, just persevere.

I blow into the dandelion puff

they dance into the air,

so weightless and free

in this darkness, things

that truly matter - shine.

   just watch, with curious eyes,

everything falls in its place.

It's been a hard week. I feel so lost and caught, not seeing a way out.

Poem: Lost at sea

we're gazing at each other over the sea

looking at the rippled reflection we leave behind

draw me a map of your wounds and bruises

let's kiss each others scars

the life we live

is the shadow we leave behind

all the yesterdays,

all the tomorrows

are rooted inside you,

into your experience of I

we tell our stories in our own voice

our heartbeat is written into the soil

our hands touch

and our reflections merge into one

I dive into the water, homesick,

I will wait for you there.

Poem: Let it.

But what if it burns?

Let it.

Let it burn the shell

 in which you are wrapped,

Let it burn through the chamber of your heart,

Let it tear down the walls,

which hide you inside,

Let it clench your soul at the center,

Let it show you the darkness

 that has consumed you,

Let it burn away your old dreams,

Let it smoke out the shadows

 behind which you've been hidden,

Let it all take place,

And return into the new dawn,

You are stronger than you think.

Poem: Into the storm

We climb mountains of fear

and swim rivers of grief

Inner demons we fight

Boat is our heart

mind the captain

navigating through

the forest of wisdom

The thoughts of your past

are weighting you down

Body holding memories

When it starts to burn

at the staircase of your heart

Everything will start to gain new meaning

Restless soul

trapped in your own thinking

can't follow the rhythm of the heart

feeling the distant abandonment

of the life we wished we lived

We don't carve with chisel and hammer

but with thoughts and feelings

Lets heal the wounds

that bled for generations

into the earth, which

we all call home.

Some things have started to bug me. There has been a lot of disappointments, but I am in my haven, safe. Still it burns in my heart, my soul searching for something more....

Poem: Empty your heart on me

How your body wraps

around my curves

The instant comfort,

a safe haven

Empty your heart on me.

Flowers on the window

Thunder rolling closer

Your tired body in my lap

Hot like a stone in the sun

Your heavy breathing,

the only sound I focus on

Church bells ringing, helicopter landing

We all plunge into the hard days

without warning

Feeling under pressure

in this playground

Not knowing full well

Which road should we choose

Second guessing ourselves

Looking for a purpose in our days

It feels like we're creating

our own way the best we know how

We can find comfort in the thought

We will manage anything

life throws at us

Poem: Shedding armour

As I run through these meadows

enjoying the freedom the great outdoors offer

I think of all the rooms in which I stood

hoping to fit in

All they've taught me

was how to hide

and dress myself in armour

Excusing myself and explaining why

you wouldn't love me anyway

yet at the same time

yearning to hear these words

"You are loved just as you are,

stand your ground, you are enough."

Searching for a connection

yet closing myself in solitude

Fearing abandonment

asking "why must I be?"

How deep the river flows?

How deep do the wounds reach?

Sadness gets comfortable

like a second skin

but so does anger

- showing us where it hurts,

if we pause to hear it speak

And not throw it around,

for it grows and multiplies

If you could sell your memories,

            would you?

Would it hurt less not to feel them

but feel the numbness of them gone

living a life of their own on the pages?

We're never finished, always falling and rising

it's only in darkness that we see the light

The person we were exists somewhere in time

You're gone but not actually gone

the image of you interchanges

Some people never leave -

names linger in the chambers of our hearts

like memories behind a tombstone

They've left, but not actually left

souls hang on to each other,

intertwined.

Poem: Journey back home

I get lost in the smell of trees

mixture of fresh and old

the rain exploring the boundaries

my ears searching for sound

to numb the silence

finding home in the wind

running till the dawning light

like a wolf, my heart on fire

eternity of the night

calming like the oceans waves

it covers that part of the heart

that seems to be missing something

I have waited here for you, unknowingly

I have found such calm in your eyes, unexpectedly

a feeling of coming home

as the storm rages on

I have always known your heartbeat

the waves so similar to mine

life unfolds before us

as we move from one crossroad to the next

our souls pulling us to the place,

where we belong, to life lived in peace

it's such a long-lasting journey

                back home.
