Poem: Comfort of the clouds

in the comfortable corner of the room
when the world becomes silent and black
my thoughts subside, and only then do I dare to admit
I think of you most of the time
more than I would allow to show
I utter a tiny wish, that you would think of me
as often as I think of you
wishing that what we ventured onto was real and true
but I'm afraid to look up at the sky,
for it's easy enough to be shot down
so I keep it a secret, somewhere where I believe
I can guard it and play safe
but the truth is, the walls fall apart
as if you see right through me
just a thought of you soothes my weary mind
and I know the comfort of the clouds

  3. if you don't know how the other is feeling it's always a risk to step out into the open space - and it needs wisdom to decide whether to take the risk or rather play safe and just enjoy the comfort the clouds bring...smiles

    1. yes, it's hard to take risks and wanting to know for sure before doing anything... the other is a waiting game, but at least you have dreams :)

  4. In reading your words, I had to admit to myself I have been in similar states of mind more times than I can recall.. Your poetry always strikes at the heart of what it is to be a loving human being.

  5. The comfort of the clouds.. A curse and a blessing.. For a short time I'll be there, bot in the long run we all need to face the cruel eyes of the horizon

  6. The comfort of the clouds. Hope, expectation and refreshing. Life is more than moments joined together, there is hope in the promise of the clouds.

  14. Just thinking about the love you feel is comfort indeed, requited or not; for to have loved is everything.

  15. Your poem expresses so much, Nataša - the loss and pain but also the fear of the future. The clouds can be comforting but probably only for a while.

  16. I so resonate with the fear of exposing one's vulnerability. But now that I am old and time is short, I think, if people say those words and take the risk, at least then the other person knows. I wish I could re-write your story and give you back those dreams! Your poem is lovely.

  17. I like this so much. It connected with my heart and I could feel the longing, a little regret and the yearning for comfort. May the clouds provide it.

  21. When we have something precious, I think we want to keep it a secret for fear that exposure will somehow tarnish it. I really like the way you ended this poem,
