Poem: Smoke, fog and haze

where is it written
how many days one must spend
                roaming through the fog
where terrain is moist and slippery
and nothing can be taken for granted
not the past, not the future
                the uncertainty
                testing your will to survive

how far does the smoke reach
                of burned passion and dreams
                does it change your view
                fire will rekindle unexpectedly
if only you can step on the same road again
                one, two, three...
                mistakes are lessons
                and lessons learned bring clearance

does the haze cloud your judgment
the ability to see the light
                somewhere beyond
                does it hide the secrets
                we fear to share
or can you see the stories emerging
                grand and filled with love
from which a fresh start is given

One is wary of what nature provides even though there are signs of goodness seen! Wonderful lines Natasa!

  6. Definitely difficult to see the light of decision, in paths marked my obstructing fog and dangerous smoke. Better to be well equipped with hope and inspiration, just in case.

    Thought provoking!

  8. Smoke, fog, clouds are all constantly changing just as we are, seen but unseen and difficult to capture like our minds.

  10. Oh I loved how you used fog as imagery to depict feelings of uncertainty.. perhaps when the fog clears... so does our head.. and we are able to overcome obstacles in life :D

    Lots of love

  11. We all have fog and smoke in life, I think, but hopefully we find ways of finding that clarity despite the haze!

  12. Great and meaningful imagery in your poem, Nataša. There are times however when the fog lift and the clouds are blown away.

  14. First I like the style in which this poem was written. We often have to find our way through fog and haze in the journey of life to see the vision clearly.

  16. Nataša I felt the fog clouding me, keeping me from seeing clearly, and sometimes treacherous as well as the smoke from fire both destroying and creating....how we are many times caught in this hazy moments unable to see clearly....but as you say at the end....

' or can you see the stories emerging
    grand and filled with love
from which a fresh start is given'

Not all has to be lost in that fog and haze....we can emerge fresh....love this!
