Poem: Willow twig

A new poem and slideshow.

"

a tree abandoned by the forest
and overshadowed by the sky
                knows this kind of loneliness
where no doe would seek shelter
and no bee share its fruits
seeds fall gently into the stream
where the wind gives no answers
and the clouds race forward
offer no shoulder to the teary twig
there the roots are small, yet they find
a way through the hardest of soils
                and the driest of seasons
hide in a place where the fire
                doesn't turn cold

  5. You have described the feeling of uselessness in a most powerful way. Yet, in the end, it seems that the wish to survive will prevail. Very well-expressed!

  6. Oh yes, a tree does know loneliness....I like that though the roots are thin somehow they make their way through the hardest of soils. Though the tree is lonely, it is also strong! A survivor.

  11. This is so beautiful - so many lovely phrases, like "where the wind gives no answers". I love the hopefulness as the small twig burrows through the soil and finds a way.

  15. Natasa,

A poem offering hope even for the weakest in the world, be it nature or in society and people. It is rewarding to see new shoots of growth emerge from the darkest corners...Hope to be felt and seen:)
