Poem: Your name evokes parts of me

once we bled among oceans' waves,
now we bleed unto paper in covered rooms
your nocturnal symphonies resonate somewhere deeper
in myself, as if piano keys were my ribs
raindrops drifting on the window pane were minutes we had

I heard butterflies caught in your dreams
and wondered who will it take to teach them flight?
their desire was clear in the hour of the wolf
when you woke up as if it wasn't you who rose up
from that bed, but your other self, thirsty
for life without a mask, losing emotion as a price

I remember how we ran like two deer
away from a pack of lions, in the pale moonlight
when we reached the shore, there was no hiding place left
like any two lovers, we fell into an embrace
laid down into sand, covered ourselves with fallen leaves
painted our skins in colours of stones
we were nowhere to be found
only our voices whispered between the sea waves

your name still evokes parts of me
as if it is etched into my bones
